About the campaign
Being a school largely focused on engineering and solving problems analytically, we do not often see many opportunities to participate in community projects that can make large-scale, tangible differences in improving our community's environmental wellbeing. That is why we formed the Solar Ambassadors of Purdue University.
We believe that everyone should have the ability to support and spread clean energy. RE-volv empowers people and communities to invest collectively in renewable energy. It's a pretty simple idea. We crowdsource funding to install solar panels for community-serving nonprofit organizations. As these organizations pay us back, we reinvest the money into more solar projects in communities across the country. This creates a revolving fund for solar energy that continually perpetuates itself, building more and more solar. It's a pay-it-forward model for solar energy. We call it the Solar Seed Fund.
RE-volv is an amazing platform that has enabled us to make a positive impact on the world around us. We are agents of change, educators of solar energy, and passionate about ensuring a better future. But we still need your help.
Every dollar donated to the Solar Seed Fund is invested directly into solar installation projects for community-serving nonprofits like schools, homeless shelters, churches, and food pantries. Any donation will get us one step closer to achieving our goal of ensuring a more sustainable future. As a way to round out Purdue's 150 years of giant leaps, think global, act local.
We are a group of ten interdisciplinary undergraduate students from Purdue University. This is the second year that Purdue students have participated in RE-volv's Solar Ambassador Program, and our overarching goal of bringing solar energy to our community. We would love to have you be a part of that mission! Over the course of our campaign, we will have two waves of social media bingo and two raffles. All donations made throughout the duration of the campaign will give an automatic entry into our raffle to win one of twenty available prizes!
In addition to spreading the word about solar energy, we'll also be inviting you into our homes to see how we celebrate the holidays in a sustainable way! We'll also be sharing lots of tips and tricks on ways to give more eco-friendly gifts to your loved ones and how to create eco-friendly holiday decor.
